Our Organization strives on promoting Information on tigers, be the advocates to protect their rights from being violated, and stop all type of endangerment they continue to have nowadays. Tigers have various types of habitats such as tropical forests, evergreen forests, woodlands and mangrove swamps to grasslands, savannah and rocky country. Tigers are known to be mostly nocturnal and are the top notch ambush predators that rely on the camouflage from their stripes. It is known that from the original nine subspecies of tigers, there have been only three to have become extinct in the last 80 years which is on average of one tiger every 20 years. A prediction has been made that all tigers will become extinct in the wild within the next decade.
The cause of reduction in the global population of tigers are due to the illegal poaching for their pelts, meat and body parts (that is used in folk medicines), as well as habitat loss from logging/other forms of forest destruction, and fragmentation. It is also showed that in todays world, four of the remaining subspecies of tigers are considered endangered by the IUCN, and that the two of the subspecies are in a status of “critically” endangered. Overall the total number of all the wild populations of the six remaining subspecies of tigers are the Bengal, Indochinese, Malayan, Siberian, South China, and Sumatran which are at an estimate of between 3,000 – 3,600 tigers.
Our soul purpose is to help stop the population of all endangered tiger species from continuing to decline, the destruction of their habitats, and help inform others of this noble cause that needs the support from the world.
